Community meeting at Kanyangoro Primary School to discuss the brief for the new Secondary School for Girls. This meeting was attended by women and men from the community, children from the Kanyangoro Primary School, teachers, The Chief, Deputy Chief, Councillor and Joab Othatcher, director of TEMAK. The meeting was conducted by Tobias, the head teacher at Kanyangoro Primary School and spoken in Luo (the local language) and translated in English for the benefit of Georgia and Amber. Their participation was empowering and a committee of girls at the Kanyangoro Primary School has been created to work with bricks + cartwheels. Katolo, January 2007.

Community meeting at Kanyangoro Primary School to discuss the brief for the new Secondary School for Girls. These young girls will have the opportunity for a secondary education once the school is open in 2011. Katolo, January 2007.
On their final day in Katolo, bricks + cartwheels directors Georgia Bowen and Amber Lush planted three umbrella trees with the girls and women of the Katolo community at Kanyangoro Primary School. The student committee are responsible for watering the trees to ensure that they grow in to a source of future shade and shelter within their school. Katolo, February 2007.
